This series is a must-have October 1, 2008 Richard B. Henry (Missoula. MT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This series is the most incredible documentary/reality series made to date. Watching it will make a profound impact on your life. This show is great for stirring our hearts toward missions. The format of the show (as described in an earlier review) makes it great for youth. With that said, episodes should be pre-screened before showing them to younger kids (say younger than 14.) Some of the episodes are pretty intense. The reality of life (and death) in some of these countries that were visited is pretty graphic at times. For example, some torture photo's from Pol Pot's regime in Cambodia are shown in one episode. Floating bodies are shown in the Ganges River in India. Though graphic, these images are critically necessary in conveying the message of the episodes. With all that said, only about 1/5th (or less) of the episodes are this intense. Again, this entire series is well worth having.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DOCUMENTARIES! November 27, 2006 April Herzog (Ashland, OR USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
These videos are so exciting that I think everyone should own them (there are several DVDs. They have filmed seasons 1 and 2, so far). They portray much of the world as it truly is; raw, hurting, poor, and beautiful. My husband and I love traveling and missionary work, and these documentaries make our feet very itchy to get back on the road! They are extremely well edited and the cinematography is incredible. A must see...in fact, I don't know how to convince you, but if I could...I would. There are trailers to see on the "travel the road" official website. Perhaps those will convince you.
Where is it??????? November 6, 2006 Carole Pellerin 0 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have yet to receive this product, I assumed there was a delay in shipment, quite a lengthy delay!!! I am sincerely disappointed in the fact that the shipment of my purchase was never completed. In past orders, I experienced no problems of this nature, I've since decided to take my online shopping elsewhere. Sincerely disappointed, Mrs. Pellerin
Behind the scenes of Missionary Trips January 6, 2005 Tim C. Sanderford 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I can't recommend these videos strongly enough. With most missionary films you get to see only the teaching of the Gospel. This shows you the where, when, why, and how of overseas missionary trips. The two main characters, Tim Scott and Will Decker are always interesting, and it's great to hear them speak from the heart. The video style will appeal highly to younger teens to young adults. A great investment for your youth group, or just to pass it on among friends.
