The focus is enhanced reading skills and there are several quite long and INTERESTING articles in each chapter for you to sink your teeth into, plus glossaries and a range of exercises for class or personal study. You can access (free downloads) some audio for later units on the publisher's website (info in the book). There are html links for many of the original source materials, so you can go exploring online.
This is a really solid resource - another example of the modern development of textbooks for English speaking students of Arabic: professionally put together by experienced academics with a clear and appealing layout.
(I know 5 stars is high, but frankly to date I have only reviewed the materials I found to be excellent, rather than those that have disappointed).
The serious student or teacher will NOT be disappointed by this purchase.
