Excellent Work October 2, 2008 Rudolph K. Sebastian (California, New York) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
From the cradle of civilization to the most recent finding in alternative archeology, and from the mouth of gods and goddesses to last invented word in contemporary vocabularies, Maximillien de Lafayette sailed the infinity of their expressions, languages and hidden meanings. A monumental endeavor to ascertain to the outstanding accomplishment of a brilliant and tenacious linguist and historian. 14 languages, in all their glory and mysteries, thousands of terminologies and elaborate definitions, encyclopedic articles and essays, comparative study of the origin, the roots, the derivation, and cross-reference in etymology render this Thesaurus-Dictionary the richest, the most integral and authoritative lexicon in modern times...This goes for the 5 already published volumes, and unquestionably to the forthcoming ones. Lafayette sets the standard for excellence in etymology and philology.
Remarkable! September 18, 2008 Dr. Imanuil Najad Behrooz. (Baku, Azerbaijan) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The best of the best in its field. I was puzzled by the lineage and derivations of Aramaic and Hebrew words and phrases in the Bible from the Anunnaki language, called Ana'kh. A rare characteristic feature hardly found or admissible in similar academic work. The author (or authors! or editors!) succeeded in establishing a direct link between our languages (ancient and modern) and extraterrestrial cultural civilization. This is enormous! This is unheard of!! This is beyond extraordinary!!!! Linguistically speaking, and starting with the letter B, on page 427, the author provided 11 different definitions and linguistic origins of "B" in Aramaic, Sumerian, and Akkadian; thus ushering in impressive (qualitative and quantitative) information and unparallel sources of reference. And it gets better. On page 585, Maximillien de Lafayette, the author of the thesaurus, infiltrated esoteric concepts from the secret doctrine of the Anunnaki and Ulema, and defined what Baridu is! A term I am not familiar with. Apparently, Baridu is "the act of zooming into an astral body or a Double." Followed by a definition of another word possibly known only to adepts "Bari-ya", which is the creation account in Sumerian, Akkadian and Anunnaki texts. The definition is provided at length, and is accompanied by texts from Sumerian and Babylonian epics, along with a translation. The word is defined in Assyrian, Sumerian, Mesopotamian, Akkadian, and Ana'kh; the Anunnaki language. You got the idea. This volume contains so much information, so much historical and linguistic references, and so much religious, esoteric, philosophical, metaphysical and "extraterrestrial" analogies, to a point, where and when the mind of the reader becomes totally saturated with knowledge and hard to find (if impossible) documented information on topics of a major importance to all of us. This thesaurus is the United States Library of Congress on wheels. Outstanding! Dr. Imanuil Najad Behrooz. (Baku, Azerbaijan).
An Oasis of knowledge and scholarship September 10, 2008 Benjamin Grossman, Ph.D. (New York, New York) 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
As an associate professor of anthropology, I highly recommend this thesaurus. It has substance and depth. It is an oasis of knowledge. Impressive to say the least. It opens a wide spectrum of scholarship, never elucidated or explored before. Definitely, one of the 10 best books of the season. Professor de Lafayette added an extra dimension of learning, discoveries, and enlightenment. An outstanding scholar indeed. Benjamin Grossman, Ph.D., Ed.D.
From etymology, epistemology, thematic, linguistics to extraterrestrials: All things are well-covered by a distinguished author. September 8, 2008 Gustave Johansen (Nova Scotia) 27 out of 28 found this review helpful
Overwhelming accomplishment in the field of philology, social history and academic approach to extraterrestrial linguistics. Most unusual, innovative, and abundant with information and research to an extreme. The words are defined ad infinitum in a wide philological array from various angles and in numerous contexts and languages -almost 15 of them-, thus providing both the serious languages researcher and fans of Anunnaki et al with all the possible explanations, references, definitions and analogical derivations. In summary, this is a high caliber dictionary to be treasured. In deed, a sublime addition to our libraries. It was expected, as it came from an authoritative source: Dr. de Lafayette, a highly distinguished author and linguist. Worth adding that the thematic articles covering the civilizations of Sumer, Babylon and Assyria vis-a-vis the Anunnaki, and the linguistic impact of the Anunnaki phraseology and vocabulary on the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures are of an extreme importance. It is a Pandora Box! Gustave Johansen, Ph.D.
QUESTION: WHO is this guy? All 5 star reviews? September 6, 2008 J. Bockius (Northern California, USA) 3 out of 32 found this review helpful
PLEASE DON'T buy this guys bogus books. As an armchair ufologist I have read almost all of the ground-breaking researcher's books. I am convinced and compelled that this area of inquiry will have momentous consequence on society very soon; and have felt it important to garner as much knowledge as I could on the subject. A year or so ago Amazon put all these books by Maximillien De Lafayette on the market. Now there are lots and lots of titles by this guy and they are all the same! I had NEVER heard of this guy before. His books are not available through any other book sellers. So I did a little research. I googled his name, and sure enough there are an amazing amount of obscure unsubstantiated references to this person, but none of it actually amounts to a hill of beans. Its like he learned to do web layout and went nuts filling page after page with absolute crap, all to build his own ego. For example: he supposedly has written anywhere from 103 to 200 books, depending on which website you read. He is editor in chief, art director, does magazine and web site layout and design for the NEW YORK MONTHLY TRIBUNE (see other reviews here and for all this person's books), which is not a legitimate magazine. Have YOU ever heard of it? Me either. Then there are numerous murky websites that tout De Lafayette as an art critic, historian, syndicated columnist, and a great pioneer in the art world. He runs numerous (real or imagined) corporations: namely AMERICAN HOSPITALITY INSTITUTE INC., WORLD JEWISH NEWS AGENCY INC, LA FEMME MAGAZINE, WORLD HOSPITALITY MAGAZINE, and WORLD ART CELEBRITIES JOURNAL. One gets the idea that he is a very busy guy, huh? It's just a guess but I think all these websites, corporations, references to his greatness (and there are many!) are all fraudulent and manufactured to make him look like something he only wishes he was. For example he calls himself St. Germain reborn and compares himself with the scholar Zacharia Sitchin in the 5 star reviews he wrote himself (see NY Monthly Tribune, Truthseeker, LeRoux, Researcher, and there is one or two more pseudonyms he uses here). All his UFO/alien/Anunnaki books are filled with information lifted from the research and scholarship done by the genuine authorities: Budd Hopkins, Jacques Vallee, Paola Harris, Zac Sitchin to name a few. I have NO AXE to grind with this guy other than he is a fraud and he is out to rip you off!!! I did the research. If you doubt me, just Google his name; the more you look the creepier this guy becomes.
