Very Good GPS February 16, 2008 Ron (Lamesa, Tx USA) This is our third Garmin GPS, the first being the Legend, and the second a C330 for the car. We have an old version of Metroguide USA v5 and downloaded applicable areas of interest and what a neat difference it makes using the look up feature and the basic auto routing capability to find what you're looking for. Our primary use for this GPS is geocaching, and I think we got a good deal on it for just a little over $100.00 including shipping. Since the Legend series is basically the same, it wasn't to difficult to grasp and use the basic features on the Legend C. I know it is really outdated compared to the newer GPS's however if you can find one as we did in the price range we got it for, it is worth getting, and before I forget, It has 24mb of memory to download additonal information. From the Metroguide I was able to download several major cities that we drive to and through on trips, so the 24mb was adequate for us. Since the old Metroguide can be used over and over again, it is not a problem to put in a laptop and update the Legend C as needed, deleting and adding whatever information is needed.
Awsome November 1, 2007 Carlos Machado (Caracas, Venezuela) This little item is awsome. I take it everywhere. It has been through rain, mud, saltwater, fishblood, sand etc, and it is still as good a new. Make sure you wipe of any of these substances after each use. The screen is a bit small, and dont overload it with maps, because the map feature will become veery slow!
Excellant in many situations December 2, 2006 Bradley D. Delay (Dalton, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this now for almost one year. Has served me well. I use it for road cycling and also when traveling. I especially like having it when arriving by air in a new city. I preload that city's maps and also apply any local waypoints of interest such as bookstores and coffee shops. I am never lost in a new city. Very helpful when finding places to eat in obscure areas on the fly. Would definitely buy again but would probably buy it's upgrade with memory card that is now available.
Lousy tech support April 17, 2006 Jolly Reader (New York, NY) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The color version has way more features than the black and white and is worth the extra cost. Though, it still is finicky with satellite reception in places that it should be fine. It's connecting their software and dealing with Garmin support that is a nightmare. Customer service hold time: 30-35 minues. Response time for email tech requests: a staggering 5-7 working days.

I've used a GPS 72, Legend, Vista and now the Vista C. This is by far the best unit I've used. I love the color screen more than I thought I would and the USB cable transfers data very quickly if you want to load maps or a lot of waypoints.
