Improved performance with 2610 November 26, 2008 JP the Gadget Geek (Seattle, WA USA) I mainly bought this so I could install my 2610 GPS in my dash. It works better than the internal antenna.
Garmin Remote Antenna August 28, 2008 Henry Rodriguez I have yet to loose the connection to the satillites with this item. I only use it when I drive the SUV or the MiniVan.
WORKS AS ADVERTISED March 25, 2008 J. BIRDWELL (RICHMOND, TX) This remote antenna for my Garmin GPS works just as advertised - and I cannot say that for many products. The ONLY improvement I would recommend is modifying the included mount so it could be used on either the windshield or the dash. It worked right out of the box - and is easy to assemble with the mount. A "no sweat" deal.

I have tried to use this item inside and it has not proven to increase reception. Save your money.
Generally Not Needed August 4, 2007 rawnoodle (League City, TX) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
An external antenna for a GPS is generally not needed unless (1) You have coated windshield tinting - these have metal particles that can obstruct satellite reception. (2) You are constantly in an area surrounded by skyscrapers - these can interfere with satellite reception also. If you are not affected by these two conditions, then you DO NOT need an external antenna... using an external antenna will NOT improve your satellite reception... you ONLY need this if you are having reception problems. If you are not having reception problems, you are wasting your money... it is an external antenna, and NOT a signal amplifier... if you are not having reception problems, you will NOT get any better signals using an external antenna.
