a tad loose for the 120GB January 7, 2009 Elke Jacobsen (Fort Bragg, CA) This is a great ipod protector - my only concern is that it's a bit roomy for the 120 GB (even with the extra insert that's marked for the 80GB model), so I don't see how the screen protector will stay in place very long (it's a seperate piece of plastic). Also it comes loose off the belt clip easily, i.e. when you sit down.
excellent protection at a small price January 7, 2009 Paul Roese (Grand Rapids, MI. United States) am very pleased with this item on all fronts and recommend to any for iPod protection.
I found the case to be acceptable but there were no instructions in the case that were legible. January 6, 2009 RONINin92 (WAYNESBORO, VIRGINIA United States) The case is a good durable case. the belt clip seems sturdy enough although I cannot use it with my uniform, USAF. However the instructions were extremely small print and not really very explicit. I would have liked better larger instructions and more information of use of the case. Otherwise the case itself seems quite durable for the most.
Protects from dropping, not from dust and dirt. January 5, 2009 C. G. King (Horse Country, VA USA) Since I use my iPod mostly during outside chores and on the garden tractor, I wanted tough protection, but dust still gets inside the case, especially affecting the open connector site. I was disappointed to discover that inserting the iPod into the case means stretching the upper lip of the case, which means once it's in the case, you're not inclined to take it out, but you really need to for cleaning if you're using it in very dusty situations. The lip on my case stretched enough at first insertion to look a bit messy in addition to not holding the screen protector securely in place. Another disappointment is that the belt clip is very bulky and doesn't open very far so although it would work fine for a belt, if I wore one, it doesn't easily attach to other clothing. Fortunately, my fleece vest has a suitable pocket, but the thick clip and rubber texture of the case make slidding it into the pocket difficult. I do like the added protection the heavy case affords and the clip easily detaches so I'll use it without the clip--for a while anyway. Since the iPod doesn't come in and out of the case easily, I can see why they make the cable connection slot open, but I'd really rather have that covered during my outdoor activities so it, too, is protected. I'll continue to look for a case that better meets my particular needs. I can, however, see the value of this case in situations where rough treatment is likely and where it's not excessively dusty. A real advantage is that the rubber case keeps the unit from being slippery to hold if your hands are wet or sweaty and makes it less likely to slip off a stack of whatever to the floor. It's probably the perfect case for some users depending on individual needs. The iPod screen is clearly visible through the screen protector and the dial is completely accessible, plus having no fold over cover makes it easier to use one-handed.
Bounce Test January 2, 2009 John Bare (Oakland, Ca USA) I had to spend a couple of days in the hospital getting zapped with radiation and took my Ipod 80GB Classic with me in this case. Three times it was dropped down to the hard floor from hospital bed height and it survived them all. I was required to lie totally flat for two days at a stretch, I was able to handle this with 80 GB of jazz and what-not on the Ipod to pass the time. I was more than happy when my player was fetched from the floor several times and remained in perfect working condition following the Inadvertent Bounce Tests. Was it the case that saved the day? Who knows, but it did survive, as did I and we are both still playing...
