Amazon.com Product Description Designed for avid golfers who want advanced capability in a light, compact and rugged form, the SkyCaddie SG2 Golf GPS gives you an eagle's view of each hole from anywhere on the course. In addition to getting distances to bunkers and other hazards on the course, the SG2 is equipped with the patented IntelliGreen technology, enabling you to measure the full depth and shape of the green from any angle of approach, both on or off the fairway. Part of SkyCaddie's exclusive, professional 4-Star SkyCourses, IntelliGreen graphics provide an eagle's eye view of the green with an indicator representing a direct line-of-play from wherever you are on the course. The SkyCaddie is as easy to use as a remote control or cell phone. If all you want are distances to the green, just turn it on and you won't need to touch another button throughout your round. The SG2 automatically advances to the hole you're on and displays the same information you'd find on a sprinkler head, regardless of where you hit your ball. With an annual SkyPlayer Club Membership Plan (not included with purchase of device), you can easily download thousands of our professionally enabled SkyCourses. Three different levels of memberships are available, based on how many courses you want to store and play. If you do not want a membership and your course is not already available, you can record the front, center and back of each green with your SkyCaddie's quick set-up module, which takes about 10 seconds. The SG2 has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. A full charge of a depleted battery only takes 3 to 4 hours and typically lasts up to 10 hours of continuous use. What's in the Box? SkyCaddie SG2, AC charger, USB cable, belt clip, user guide, installation CD Frequently Asked Questions: Q: Can the SG2 give me the distance to the pin? A: The SG2, using the IntelliGreen graphics found on our professionally recorded SkyCourses, provides more useful information than just the distance to the pin alone. Once the line of play is selected on the graphical green outline, this provides the minimum carry to get on the green, the maximum limit you have to the back of the green, plus you can adjust to obtain the third distance of the approximate flag location using a pinsheet supplied by your course or visual observation. All three distances are provided simultaneously from any direction as you approach the green. You can then frame your shot in a much larger target area and select the best club. You will hit more greens and have shorter putts than a single number can provide. Q: Does the SG2 automatically come with the courses I want? A: No, but you have two ways to get the courses you want. First, the SG2 includes a special feature to make it very easy (less than 10 seconds on the green of each hole) to set up your course to measure distances to the green. SkyCaddie also offers three modestly priced membership plans that offer a number of benefits and access to course information on thousands of professionally mapped courses through the SkyGolfGPS website. About SkyGolf SkyGolf is a solutions integrator that leverages the convergence of proven technologies, including GPS, Internet, mobile handsets, and proprietary content to provide an instant answer to the oldest question in golf: "How far?" The SkyCaddie, developed by SkyGolf, is used on over 14,000 golf courses in 45 countries around the world. Weighing less than 5 ounces, the SkyCaddie utilizes the same global positioning system used by the U.S. military, but in a high portable handheld device, about the size of a cell phone, to compute distances to any point on a golf course. SkyGolf uses professional, high-performance GPS engines, satellite-based accuracy augmentation, plus proprietary accuracy enhancements to provide golfers with the distances needed to play smarter, faster and have more fun. The proven reliability and accuracy of the SkyCaddie handheld, combined with the precision of SkyGolf's vast course library, gives golfers the trust and confidence they need to play their best golf.
Product Description Using a powerful microprocessor, GPS, and satellite-based accuracy enhancement technology, the SkyCaddie automatically calculates, as you move, distances to up to forty targets per hole simultaneously in less than a second. You will already have your number when you get to your ball. You don't need a clear line of sight or reflective target with the SkyCaddie. Because the targets are pre-programmed, the SkyCaddie eliminates the need to aim through a lens, accidentally hitting the wrong target on a hole, or trying to hit a pin with a laser beam at 200 yards.Get accurate measurements over hills, trees, and obstructions to any target. Play confidently and knock strokes off your game. Learn how far you hit your drive, 5-iron, 9-iron, or wedge with a touch of a button.Just let the SkyCaddie see the sky, and it'll do all the yard work for you! Plus, at a mere 4.8 ounces, it goes anywhere you go. Now your game can measure up, just like the SkyCaddie!

sKY CADDIE FAILURE January 6, 2009 Herbert Hodess (west Palm Beach, Fla) I recently ordere a Sky Caddie GPS and three times the product which was supplied was defective. The first one couldn't access the satellites and had to be returned. The second one had three screws in the case missing and fell apart on use. The third one was alreadey used by someone else with a different name programmed and it failde also. I feel that the units were refurbished and not new as advertised, and I felt very disappointed with the Amazon quality control.
For the good players January 4, 2009 M. Wittig With the small size and intellgreen feature, this unit is great for good players. I would say that if skygolf has mapped the course, this is the best unit around. Others use pictures of the hole to get the distances and most only give you the front back and center of the green distances. I am not sure were you play, but i play on some interesting shaped greens and need to know how far it is to carry on all parts of the green. I know many have complained that not all bunkers are pointed out, I personly just need the green maped for me. I have had my side button break on me and I can not lock the key pad, but this happend after I map my own course that did not see the benifet of having skygolf map it for them. Most course have to buy a few units to get there coures mapped, but the units that they sell are pre-loaded with the course. $[...] bucks a year may be a bit steep, but golflogic is 30 if you play more than 20 different courses and they use pictures to map. I do not know how you can take a picture and place a gps location on it but I will take a person with a gps unit on there back for me.
Skycaddie Leather Cover December 16, 2008 Diane Swab The product is just what I expected so very satisfied. Dealing thru Amazon was excellent. ONLY negative was the cost of the product. Over $30 dollars for a tiny leather cover is ridiculous.
Definitely improves my game! November 18, 2008 T. Price (San Diego, CA) I've played with my SG2 for a few rounds and since then my best round dropped from a 95 to an 87 - twice in a row. It's given me more confidence in my shots and has made the game a lot more fun - no more hunting for markers or sprinkler heads! The first time I used it, I didn't give it time to orient itself and it didn't work at all. My bad. Since then, I give it 10 minutes on my golf bag before a round to get oriented and it's ready to go. It has worked perfectly. I purchased it because of the intelligreen feature and this has been worth every penny! Being able to target specific areas of the green and knowing its shape has saved me many strokes and is a real confidence booster when you're shooting over hazards. The extra information is a lot more useful than just front, center, and back of the green, and it's extra cool how the distance can be updated by moving the cursor to the exact point on the green you want to hit. The four star courses are extremely well-mapped with and it's easy to update the courses on the unit via the USB interface. I live in the San Diego area and all the courses I play around here have been mapped. It would be nice if it held more than 10 courses but that's just being greedy. And for you Mac-heads like me, their software works great with my new iMac, no problems at all. If you like to golf and you have all the right clubs, this should be your next investment. It's not cheap but it's less than the price of a good hybrid. (And you''ll always be the most popular golfer in your foursome!)
Good for the price July 6, 2008 G. Anfuso (Belleville, NJ) Purchased through Amazon deal of the day. Works well but sometimes doesn't find satellites. On line service didn't have the best of my county courses.
