Streetwise Prague Map - Laminated City Center Street Map of Prague, Czech Republic - Folding pocket size travel map with integrated metro map featuring lines & stations - trams, streetcar routes

This map covers the following areas:
Main Prague Map 1:10,000
Prague Metro Map

Prague, like a phoenix rising from the ashes of Communism, has become one of Europe’s most popular destinations, for business and pleasure. The 1100 year old Prague castle watches over the compact medieval center city from its perch high above the city. The cobblestone streets of the Stare Mesto are charming and romantic, flanked by ornate houses from the 14th 17th century. Inside these houses are the offices of entrepreneurs from all over the world who have seized the opportunity of Prague’s growing business climate. Beauty on the outside, business on the inside it makes an intriguing combination. The film industry has capitalized on this using Prague as a backdrop for movies as diverse as Amadeus and Mission Impossible.

The stretch from the district of Prague Castle down to and across the Charles Bridge is an unforgettable walk. With the STREETWISE Prague Map in hand, make your way from Golden Lane, a row of tiny homes and workshops dating back to the 16th century past Valdstejnska zahrada (the Wallenstein Gardens), baroque gardens tucked behind the high walls of the Wallenstein Palace; and across Charles Bridge built in 1357 and lined with the statues of saints. There are the five other historic districts of Prague: Hradcany, home to the Loreta Church and the Loreta Treasure, sacred objects from the 16th-18th centuries; Mala Strana, the Lesser Town or Small Quarter; Stare Mesto, the old gothic quarter of Old Town; Nove Mesto or New Town; Josefov, the former Jewish ghetto dating back to the 13th century; and Vysehrad, an area of landscaped gardens and castle ruins said to be the seat of Czech Princes in the 11th century. The whole maze of streets connecting the first five districts is best explored on foot. A Prague Metro map, included in our STREETWISE Prague Map shows the way to Vysehrad.

An evening in Prague is a buffet of lively offerings. Whether you are into tasting a frosty Pilsner beer in a back street cafe, seeing an opera at the Estates Theatre, where Mozart premiered Don Giovanni in 1787 or relaxing with a classic music concert played in one of the many Baroque churches, Prague will tempt you to remain awake long into the night.

The index of hotels, palaces, churches, restaurants, metro and more on our STREETWISE Prague Map will insure you are well taken care of while visiting the city.

Our pocket size map of Prague is laminated for durability and accordion folding for effortless use. The STREETWISE Prague map is one of many detailed and easy-to-read city street maps designed and published by STREETWISE . Buy your STREETWISE Prague map today and you too can navigate Prague, Czech Republic like a native. 3 out of 5 stars Useful but not essential   May 7, 2007

The map is convenient to use, and the lamination keeps it from getting destroyed from use. But it is relatively expensive considering you can get the same map in your tourist guide or for free from any one of a number of places once you get to Prague.

5 out of 5 stars Must Have Map   April 30, 2007

In typical Streetwise fashion, this is an excellent map that is key to exploring the city of Prague which has many confusing streets with confusing names.

This is a map not a guide and while it does point out places of interest it is obviously meant as a map first and foremost. None of the free maps I found came close to be as legible and understandable. The fact that it is a trifold lamninated map makes it very easy to keep in your jacket and use.

A definite must have for Prague in my opinion.

5 out of 5 stars Great for 'streetwalking'   January 2, 2007

There are maps with even more detail, but this map is an essential. Lightweight, laminated (waterproof), pocket-sized, and with almost all the detail that most visitors need. Fully-opened, it is still small, unobtrusive, and easy to use. A handy gazeteer lists many streets and monuments, with map grid locations. There are some very tiny streets/alleys that are hard to make out, but that is true for almost any
pocket-sized folding map. I buy a Streetwise for any city destination.

Worked out perfectly for our recent trip to Prague. We used it every day.

3 out of 5 stars OK, but not as your only resource   August 13, 2006

This map is convienient (like the others in the series) because you can fold it in half and stick it in your pocket without it getting all ripped up. However, I ended up referring to other maps as well to verify where I was going. The Prague map is particularly inconvenient in that it divides the Stare Mesto (the central area where most tourists spend their time) in half, such that I frequently had to turn it over as I traced my path.
