The best travel guides November 19, 2008 Doris R. Katz (USA) I always use Rick Steve's books. They are reliable and tell you the little out of the way places that others overlook. I have used his books for other countries and would not leave home with out them.
Excellent Travel Aid November 18, 2008 Michael W. Moore 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The walking tours were really great and fun. Restaurant reviews were spot on. We had this book and Fromers, Fromers never left my suitcase Rick Steve's was just that much better
Rick Steves gets it right! October 3, 2008 Victoria A. Valentine (Pittsburgh area, PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We just returned from a trip to Europe which included London. Rick's book was a wonderful help to us in planning our sightseeing, learning the Underground, and being all around entertaining. I will certainly purchase other books by him that cover places I will visit. I only wish I had bought it earlier in the planning stages of the trip.
Hopeless for Kindle September 18, 2008 T. Garner (Horseshoe NC) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Kindle version is the pits. No going back and forth, till it's totally read with bookmarks. Maps are impossible to read and are very hard to reference. Pictures, Maps and back and forth reference are wrong for kindle. Until it's book marked and referenced it's useless to travel with.
Don't leave home without it... August 30, 2008 A. Preston (Geelong, Australia) I purchased this book for my first trip overseas. The information was accurate, easy to read and has become a great resource even after my trip for labelling my pictures etc. Rick's recommendations and advice for places to eat, sleep and visit were all without fault. I read the book from cover to cover before I left home and even on a couple of unplanned walks I was able to say "hang on a minute, these's something we need to see near here, I've read about it in the book". Sure enough we were one block away from about 4 sights and we saw them all. Rick's museum tours were made so much easier with photos of works of art worth seeing and the descriptions were perfect for my previous lack of art appreciation. I would recommended the book to anyone planning a trip to London. The information was so reliable that I wouldn't hesitate to buy the current edition on a return trip to London so I knew I had up-to-date info at my fingertips.
