Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Betrayed by her longtime vampire love, Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse must now not only deal with a possible new man in her life-the oh-so-handsome shapeshifter Quinn-but also contend with a long-planned vampire summit. With her power base weakened by hurricane damage to New Orleans, the local vampire queen is vulnerable to those hungry for a takeover. Soon, Sookie must decide what side she'll stand with. And her choice may mean the difference between survival and all-out catastrophe.

3 out of 5 stars All Together Dreary   January 8, 2009
David Cady (Jersey City, NJ USA)
In Book 5 of the Sookie Stackouse series, there was mention of an upcoming vampire summit, so naturally I assumed that Book 6 would be about that. But no, Book 6 was a meandering mess leading UP to the summit. I suppose Harris needed some time to introduce characters and get her ducks in a row for the big payoff. Except there really isn't much of a payoff to be had in "All Together Dead," the book in which the summit takes place. OK, a lot of things happen: trials, murders, bomb threats, vampire marriages; so why didn't I care? I think that the more Sookie's world expands, the more supernatural beings come out of the closet, so to speak, the more unwieldy and overly complicated these stories become. Harris certainly has a marvelous imagination, but not the talent to juggle all the characters and plot elements she's thrown into the air for herself. She catches some, drops others, some seem to disappear into the ether somewhere...Sookie remains wonderful company, but Harris has surrounded her lately with characters I simply don't care about. The Vampire Queen of Louisiana; Amelia, Sookie's new, wacky and witchy "roommate"; even Quinn, the weretiger (who, if he calls Sookie "babe" one more time, I'm going to have to kill, fictional character or not): none of them is as endearing to me as Bill, Sam, Jason and Alcide, all of whom have become subsidiary characters in the series. Sookie, dear, some unsolicited advice: get back to Bon Temps and a simpler, gentler lifestyle. And Ms. Harris, please, go back with her.

5 out of 5 stars Another great Sookie book!   January 6, 2009
Jennifer Simmons (Lexington, SC)
This particular book is probably my favorite in the Sookie books. I loved the whole vampire convention idea. Imagining a full convention with nothing but vamps and other supes running around is great fun.

Plus there is non stop action.

Love this book - a great read for anyone.

1 out of 5 stars All Together Dead   January 3, 2009

This book was very disappointing. Too over the top and not in a good way. Too many character changes, even Sookie. If you like the series True Blood and Bill- you will not enjoy this. Too depressing in parts. I liked the fun Sookie.

5 out of 5 stars Sookie is back!   December 31, 2008
Tannim Umoren (Dekalb, IL United States)
This was another great tale of Sookie's misadventures. We get more insight into the vampire world and we see Sookie finally seriously considering what would happen if she were exposed to the general public. Great times and alot of fun. Can't wait for the next book!

5 out of 5 stars Sookie is a great heroine!   December 24, 2008
Stephanie L. Allen (Florida)
I got into the Sookie Stackhouse series a little late but I have been devouring the books ever since. All Together Dead is definitely the best of the bunch! The plot flows seamlessly and there's less of Bill (who I'm not the biggest fan of. I personally want Eric and Sookie together). I have put off reading the 8th book b/c I'm opening my Kindle tomorrow for Christmas and I plan on From Dead to Worse being my first download!
