Bought this just prior to going out to las vegas for my wife and I (along with the black set). And, although they are not the super-hard casings of the 70s, this luggage can take a fair amount of pounding. I'm extremely happy with the purchase and have already thrown out (donated) our previous sets.

Im really imperessed with this luggage set. I really like the way it rolls anywhere and every where. It has been really durable this far. I also enjoy the fact that my clothing and other items are not thrown about the bag they stay in place.I think this bag is the perfect fit for me..

Purchased this set recently and after taking it out of the box I immediately decided to return it as the luggage appears like it will not hold up under the duress of airline handling. I thought $170 was a good deal...too good.
It looks and feels cheap.
If you're even traveling once in a while, you need a bag that's durable and that will absorb some wear/tear. Do yourself a favor and conduct a little investigating and pay a little bit more for a good product.
